This month saw the second annual Scottish Women’s Awards, held in Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel and organised by Creative Oceanic. The black-tie event was hosted by TV and Radio Presenter and columnist, Hayley Matthews.
The aim of the event was to celebrate the achievements of women across many industries and professions such as education, law, community work, the arts, business and technology.
I was pleased to be a finalist in the category for Entrepreneur of the Year, along side some very impressive women who have achieved great things with their businesses. Whilst I may not have come away with a trophy at the end of the evening, it was an honour to be listed among such capable and inspirational women. The award went to Laura Birrell of Sticky Heelz.
The evening also helped to raise funds for a charity called Smart Work. Based in Edinburgh, this is an organisation which empowers women in need by providing them with the attire, advice, training and confidence that they need to unlock their potential and succeed in the workplace.
