Hi there! I run crochet and knitting classes mainly for adults. Crochet seems to be very popular these days but lots of people still want to learn to knit or to improve their knitting skills.

‘As a newcomer to Kilkenny it was wonderful to join the knitting group and meet new friends from many different backgrounds and to learn a new skill. The group is very friendly and supportive of each other. Máire encourages everyone to achieve their own individual goals and always has a trick or two to help us when needed! I’ve learned so much about what type of yarn would best suit my projects and picked up so many new ideas for future projects. I look forward to our Tuesday evening knitting and chats!’  Laoise ni Cheallaigh

‘The knitting and crochet group is not just learning to knit or crochet, but making friends, relaxing in their company and forgetting about 'stuff' going on in our lives. It is a meeting of like minds wanting tp progress and achieve satisfaction at something they all like to do. Maya teaches that in a relaxed voice which encourages you and gives you belief in herself. You can achieve anything you set your mind to. I have learned to make a great variety of things from childrens jackets, cardigans, jumpers, hats and scarves to blankets, throws and a variety of household bits and bobs.   I am also hoping that as I age, it will keep mind focussed, learning to read patterns etc.’  Ann Bergin

‘Since I first started attending Knitting For All group meetings I have learned how to knit hats and scarfs, which have become my favourite knitting projects. I like being in the company of my fellow knitting and crochet attendees. Maya, our teacher is always there to assist and advise.’  Luke Creane
