Fair Isle and Steeking Workshop
November 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Always wanted to create beautiful colourwork with ease?
Come and learn the beautiful traditional knitting techniques of Shetland!
In this 2-part Workshop, participants will learn various techniques of knitting in the round (on 4 needles or using Magic Loop) as they cast on and start knitting a beautiful Fair Isle tea cosy! They will also learn the Fair Isle technique of stranded knitting while following a simple two colour chart. Once the body of the tea cosy is knitted up, they will learn the traditional Shetland technique of “steeking”, i.e cutting through your knitting with confidence and finishing up their gorgeous cosy! A pattern for matching complimentary coasters will also be available should participants want to keep practicing at home.
For all bookings and enquiries please contact Naomi at The Wool Shop on 01896 754189. Full payment is required to secure bookings.
